THE STORY BEHIND THE PLACE
History & heritage
Rich Pisacano began working in Long Island vineyards in 1977 at age 15 before acquiring land in Riverhead for Roanoke. The estate’s story credits the late Gabby Pisacano’s careful vineyard work and identifies Rich and Soraya Pisacano as co-owners, with Roman Roth as lead winemaker.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The vineyard experience
Roanoke’s ten-acre Riverhead estate has a garden patio, lawn overlooking the vines and a fireside tasting room. General estate access is for wine-club members and their guests; the site also describes an introductory guided experience for people considering membership. Tulio’s NY Wine Bar on Love Lane is a separate, publicly welcoming location. Confirm eligibility and arrangements before visiting the estate.
THE WINES
A sense of their style
Cabernet Sauvignon is central to the estate’s story, alongside Cabernet Franc. Its vineyard practices emphasize careful pruning, canopy airflow and reduced fruit loads to develop concentration.
Styles describe the producer’s range, not a live tasting menu or inventory. Offerings change by vintage and season.
FOOD & THE TABLE
Something to enjoy alongside.
The estate describes bread with olive oil during guided experiences and an additional on-site food menu.
