A PLACE TO DISCOVER

A little closer
to Peconic.

Pindar’s winery and tasting room are in Peconic. The official site lists public winery tours and asks visitors arriving by hired transportation to reserve in advance.

THE STORY BEHIND THE PLACE

History & heritage

Dr. Herodotus “Dan” Damianos founded Pindar in 1979. The winery remains run by the Damianos family and describes a property of more than 300 acres growing 20 grape varieties.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The vineyard experience

Pindar’s Peconic property includes a timber-framed tasting room and winery-tour program. Its official site advertises public tours and weekend live music, while private weekday tours are arranged by appointment. A separate Port Jefferson location is a wine store; it should not be confused with the vineyard.

THE WINES

A sense of their style

The current official site lists Syrah, Malbec, Cabernet Port and sparkling wines among its range. Tour themes and the wines presented can change seasonally.

Styles describe the producer’s range, not a live tasting menu or inventory. Offerings change by vintage and season.

FOOD & THE TABLE

Something to enjoy alongside.

The tasting room offers cheese, crackers and snacks. The deck, pavilion and lawn include designated picnic areas.

Outside food: Picnic lunches are permitted in designated outdoor areas; no outside food in the tasting room and no outside catering.
