A PLACE TO DISCOVER
A little closer
to Mattituck.
Macari's Mattituck tasting room stands at the edge of a nearly 500-acre vineyard and farm. Its spaces include a covered deck and barrel cellar.
THE STORY BEHIND THE PLACE
History & heritage
Macari Vineyards was established in 1995 on a waterfront farm the family had already owned for decades. Joseph Macari Jr. adopted biodynamic principles from the early plantings. The estate describes herbicide-free grape growing and the use of its own compost.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The vineyard experience
The Mattituck tasting room overlooks a nearly 500-acre vineyard and farm. Visitor spaces include a covered deck, a barrel cellar and a private tasting suite. Guided experiences vary in format and group size; this profile concerns Mattituck, not the separate Meadowlark property in Cutchogue.
THE WINES
A sense of their style
The estate produces white, rosé and red styles, including its Bergen Road red blend. Its published technical material identifies Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Pinot Noir among the range.
Styles describe the producer’s range, not a live tasting menu or inventory. Offerings change by vintage and season.
FOOD & THE TABLE
Something to enjoy alongside.
Food options depend on the experience and include cheese and charcuterie, pizza pairings and advance-arranged private lunches.
Outside food: Outside food and beverages are not permitted.
Useful details for your visit
- Arrange tastings in advance, especially for larger parties.
