THE STORY BEHIND THE PLACE
History & heritage
Croteaux planted its vineyard in 2003 on historic Southold farmland. The setting preserves older farm buildings, including a hand-hewn timber barn dated by the estate to 1749.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The vineyard experience
A pebbled courtyard, umbrella tables and historic barns create a garden-centered visit. Seasonal planting changes the character of the space from spring blossoms to autumn flowers. Limited covered seating is available in wet weather, and the garden normally closes for winter.
THE WINES
A sense of their style
Croteaux is dedicated to rosé, with dry Provençal-inspired still wines and sparkling variations. Its vineyard plantings include Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. The estate describes hand harvesting and early separation of juice from skins to produce its pale-colored style.
Styles describe the producer’s range, not a live tasting menu or inventory. Offerings change by vintage and season.
